How is The CEOs Group different from a Board of Directors? The CEOs Group is frequently compared to having a board of directors, with the exception that you can discuss issues here that you might be reluctant to take to your board.

How is this different from having an executive coach? In The CEO's Group each participating executive receives feedback from seven or eight diverse, independent CEO viewpoints who typically express themselves with a high degree of candor.

How is the group selected?Participants are interviewed to gain an understanding of the company’s industry, size and rate of growth, plus the challenges faced by competition and other factors and the CEO's objectives. Companies are grouped so that there are no competitors and to ensure both diversity and balance.

What types of problems are discussed? The most common issues discussed are in areas like the need to clarify strategic objectives; the need to meet strategic objectives; sales; sales, sales; building management capability; the need to "upgrade" employee's to meet growth objectives

What about confidentiality? Each participant is asked to adhere to a code of conduct which outlines the guidelines that make this program so successful. Consistent participation and confidentiality are among the two most important elements.

I’m already so busy – what happens if I miss a meeting?Consistent participation is the foundation of a productive experience. Meetings are held once a month, from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and it is essential that these meetings be given the highest priority possible. For CEO's for whom consistent participation is a problem, The CEO's Group is not a good option.

I’m so busy – where will I find the time to prepare for my quarterly presentation? The role of the facilitator includes scheduling time with each CEO prior to his or her quarterly presentation. This pairing ensures that the CEO has an opportunity to make sure the company’s challenge is framed clearly and that the appropriate background information is available so that the discussion will be as productive as possible.

In addition to the monthly half-day meetings, how much more time should I expect to commit?Once a quarter, you should expect to spend four hours, and perhaps more to prepare for your presentation. Remember – this is time spent focusing constructively on one of your highest priority issues!
